I care about reliability, reproducibility, and keeping things simple where possible.

As an SRE and Platform Engineer, I design and operate platforms and reproducible infrastructure (Kubernetes, Terraform, OpenTofu, NixOS) to improve reliability, reduce toil, and make deployments boring.

I’ve been around long enough to have had internet at home in 1996, installed my first Linux in 1997 at 15, and used AWS when it was still beta, before VPC and EBS existed.

Interests

Outside of work, I’m into a bunch of things:

• nature, biology and ecology
• mushroom cultivation, foraging, identification and science
• ambient or electronic music, sound design, and composition
• cartography and geolocation
